IRAs, have always been one of the more complicated products offered at financial institutions. Most of the employees will run for the hills if they hear those three dreaded letters “I-R-A”. But, what if you could achieve a comfort level that would eliminate that fear factor? The goal of this all day workshop is to start at the beginning of "What is an IRA"; "Who can have an IRA"; "How much can they contribute" and most importantly… What is the difference between an “IRA Rollover” and an “IRA Transfer”? All areas will be thoroughly discussed with emphasis on the responsibility of the financial institution vs. the responsibility shifting to the account holder.

Registration Fees

The fee for the seminar is $325 for UBA Members and $490 for Non-Members. The fee includes all seminar materials and lunch. The deadline for registration is Friday, March 1, 2019. $25.00 late fee applies after that date.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received prior to March 1, 2019 will receive a full refund. Cancellations received after March 1 will be charged a $50 processing fee. Substitutions are always welcome and encouraged. All cancellations and substitutions must be submitted in written format prior to the event.


Patrice M. Konarik is president of Sunwest Training Corp. founded 25 years ago and is located in the Texas Hill Country near San Antonio, Texas. With over 35 years in the financial industry, Patrice has focused her expertise on the retirement account area and is currently providing live training and Webinars on IRAs and HSAs on a nationwide basis. She has a BS in Management Science from New York’s Binghamton University. Many state banking associations and other organizations use her as their main source for training on this complicated topic. Patrice encourages attendees to ask questions during the Webinars.


New Account Representatives, Certificate of Deposit Personnel, Savings Counselors, Accountholder Service Representatives, Investment and Trust Personnel who are NEWLY involved in the opening, selling, marketing, or administration of IRAs. Any officer/manager who "oversees" the IRA department and may be responsible for answering IRA account holders questions or concerns but does not actually open IRA accounts. Experienced IRA Personnel who like a slower pace workshop.
