UBA Development Programs

The Utah Bankers Association offers a series of annual development programs designed to help develop the future leaders of Utah's banking industry. These interactive programs - taught by subject experts in each specialized area - are convenient and cost-effective, due to lower in-state travel expenses.

Executive Development Program (EDP)

The Executive Development Program (EDP) is a comprehensive yearlong course designed to cultivate the next generation of banking leaders. It is an ideal opportunity for aspiring executives to step up their career and for institutions to invest in the strong bank leaders of tomorrow.

Exceptional instructors, with years of industry insights and experience, facilitate interactive course sessions that focus on the important economic, regulatory, and competitive pressures facing the industry today, including:

Bankers participating in EDP are provided with:

  • A convenient schedule designed with the busy professional in mind. Classes take place once a month over a twelve-month course period and only 6-8 hours of homework prior to each class.
  • One-on-one mentoring program with a self-selected bank executive.
  • Many opportunities to network with class peers, as well as program alumni.
  • Practical skills and lessons that can be put into immediate practice.
  • A solid foundation for their career and an excellent precursor to financial educational opportunities such as the Pacific Coast Banking School.

Credit Analyst Development Program (CADP)

2024 dates: March 20 & 21, April 23 & 24, May 14 & 15
Cost: $2150 for UBA members, $3050 for non-members

The CADP is designed to further develop basic analytical and specialized skills necessary to effectively support the commercial or business lending functions in the bank. This comprehensive program includes sessions on topics such as the role of the credit analyst, specific types of lending activity and loan structures, and documentation and compliance requirements.

Commercial Lending Development Program (CLDP)

2024 Class Dates: September 18 & 19, October 3 & 4, November 6 & 7, December 10 & 11
Cost: $2,500

CLDP Brochure  Register 

The CLDP course emphasizes the entire commercial loan life cycle, and provides participants with current lending approaches, as well as an updated focus on key analytics and regulatory issues. Students will improve their credit and marketing skills, learning best practices first-hand from industry executives and by participating in case studies.
