The Future of Banking Depends Upon a New Generation of Bankers…  
The Council of Emerging Bank Leaders (CEBL) is a membership organization sponsored by the Utah Bankers Association designed to actively enhance the leadership, organizational and performance skills of highly motivated middle managers. The program establishes a network of future bank leaders who understand the complexities of being a leader and can respond to local and national issues impacting the banking industry and their communities.
 

Program Goals & Highlights

  • To stimulate the development of future banking leaders
  • To build recognized leaders in their industry and communities
  • To provide a leadership learning network
  • To enhance leadership skills, promote strategic thinking and expose the participants to a comprehensive top-down view of the industry
  • To provide interactive experience including industry expert guest speakers, practical experience, case scenarios and relevant simulations
  • To encourage and utilize mentoring opportunities to maximize personal growth and development

Member Benefits

  • QUARTERLY ROUNDTABLE LUNCHES -Regional meetings with bank leaders and experts to provide insights on current issues and perspectives relevant to directing the operations of a bank in the current market environment - an opportunity to network, seek mentors and provide mentoring.
  • PERIODIC ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS - Access to selected CEO and VIP updates on current issues and concerns. These updates will provide a “bird’s eye view” of industry happenings bank leaders must understand.
  • ANNUAL EMERGING BANK LEADERS CONFERENCE - Focused on leadership development and current issues and perspectives directly from bank leaders and experts.
  • LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES - CEBL offers leadership opportunities throughout the state to facilitate delivery of CEBL programs to bankers in their local community. Regional leaders will receive invitations to participate in Utah Bankers Association events such as the annual Capitol Hill Visit program to Washington D.C., UBA’s Hall of Fame Luncheon, and the UBA Annual Convention.

Expectations of Members

  • ATTENDANCE AT REGIONAL AND ANNUAL EVENTS -Members will to attend quarterly roundtable lunches and the annual conference.
  • MENTORING AND COACHING -Just as members will benefit from their interaction with more senior bankers who can serve as mentors and coaches, members will cultivate those skills as they provide mentoring and coaching to others.
  • PARTICIPATION IN INDUSTRY ADVOCACY -Members will advocate on current issues of importance to the industry with elected officials and regulatory bodies.
  • SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY -Members will spend at least 5 hours a year in community service such as teaching financial literacy to students in a local school.

Membership Levels

BASIC MEMBER: $50/YEAR
A Basic Member will receive all regular and periodic communications on banking issues and discounted registration for Quarterly Roundtables and the Annual Emerging Bank Leaders Conference.

SUSTAINING MEMBER: $225/YEAR
A sustaining member will receive all of the benefits of basic membership, plus prepaid admission to Quarterly Roundtables and the Annual Emerging Bank Leaders Conference. Sustaining members may serve in regional and state leadership roles and will receive invitations to participate in Utah Bankers Association events such as the annual Capitol Hill Visit program to Washington D.C., UBA’s Hall of Fame Luncheon, and the UBA Annual Convention.
