UBA Committees

| The UBA has a number of standing committees that assist in directing Association activities in various area of banking, education and legislation. UBA Committee participation is an important benefit of membership in the Utah Bankers Association. It creates a number of growth opportunities for your employees, including leadership development, visibiity within the industry, and the opportunity for networking with peers. It also assures that your institution is well represented at the association level. Below is a list of the current standing committees and their missions: |

Agriculture Committee
Mission: To assist the agricultural community and financial institutions in becoming better informed about the latest innovations and technology in and for agriculture and agricultural-related businesses. The committee strives to create a means whereby bankers and their agricultural customers can enhance their relationship. This committee also plans the annual Ag Outlook held in conjunction with Utah State University for bankers and their customers.

Business Continuity Committee
The purpose of the UBA Business Continuity Committee is to recognize and catalog potential threats to business continuity for the banking industry, assess the potential impact of those threats and determine and implement industry wide contingency plans for business continuation

Compliance Committee
The general purpose of the UBA Compliance Committee is to enhance individual UBA member banks in their ability to understand, reply to, and comply with the various laws and regulations governing banking today.Regulatory compliance is generally a non-competitive area in which all banks must gain a certain level of expertise. This committee will share the resources and talents of the entire Utah banking community in order to accomplish the general purpose stated above.

Consumer Education Committee
The general purpose of the Consumer Education Committee is to create a public awareness of the need for financial literacy education and provide a resource for educators and bankers in providing programs. In addition, the committee is charged with promotion of financial literacy initiatives and public recognition of issues surrounding financial literacy, as well those institutions, bankers and educators involved in the process.

Convention Committee
The responsibility of the Convention Committee is to arrange, plan and execute the UBA Annual Convention within a budget recommended by the committee and approved by the UBA Chairman and President.

CRA/Community Development Committee
The general purpose of the CRA Committee is to provide a resource for industry CRA officers in their ability to understand, reply to, and comply with all aspects of the Community Reinvestment Act laws and regulations governing banking today. CRA and regulatory compliance is generally a non-competitive area in which all banks must gain a certain level of expertise. This committee will share the resources and talents of the entire Utah banking community in order to accomplish the general purpose stated above.

Education Committee
The objective of the UBA Education Committee is to enhance individual UBA member banks in their ability to understand and keep abreast of the rapidly changing training and education needs of the industry. Committee members will provide expertise on education and training issues and a diversity of thought which will promote awareness of the broad spectrum of needs found within the UBA membership in the areas of employee education and training.

Leadership Development Task Force
The Leadership Development Task Force has helped with the development of the Emerging Bank Leaders Program. They were responsible for planning the Emerging Bank Leaders Conference and providing support for UBA's newest individual membership professional development program.

Security Committee
The primary responsibility of the Security Committee is to monitor and advise banks on security-related issues, such as robberies, burglaries, fraud, etc. The committee is also responsible for the administration of the Robbery Reward program and Fraud-Net. |

Women's Conference Committee
The responsibility of the Women's Conference Committee is to arrange, plan and execute the Annual UBA Women's Conference within a budget that is determined and approved by the UBA Board of Directors.
