Utah's banks have been an integral part of Utah life since statehood, and they continue to be integrally involved in all aspects of the state and our local communities.
Bank's contributions to housing, arts, education, healthcare and an enormous number of charities and worthy causes have improved life for many people. Two years ago the Utah Bankers Association introduced "Heart of the Community" campaign to identify the significant contributions of banks. Banks were poled about their contributions, and more than 250 organizations were listed as beneficiaries of contributions.

Collectively banks are the largest business contributors to community organizations, last year donating over $175 million. Their employees are also major contributors, last year donating more than 110,000 hours in community service. These contributions are all part of "banks giving back to their communities" since over many years.
In every community in Utah, banks have consistently donated money and services to non-profit organizations which provide a wide array of services. They also participate in the Community Reinvestment Act, and annual invest millions of dollars in community reinvestment programs.
Banks are proud to pay their fair share to operate our society. On top of payroll taxes, banks in the state pay over $1 billion in federal, state, property and sales tax.
